The Nomadic Bull: Bed - Breakfast - Books, is my new site dedicated to the Nomadic Bull B & B on beautiful Gabriola Island. Come stay for a night or a week and buy a book or two.
We'd like to thank Dominik for his support in our journey. He's a true friend and a fantastic Canadian artist. Check out his work at:
This site, run by Dan, is a great resource for anything to do with motorcycles in Canada. Check it out for the latest news and stories!
For all you Beemer riders out there in need of accessories or replacement parts call Marc at Wunderlich America. Fantastic service, great price and superior quality. Thanks very much Marc.
Follow us in our local newspaper the 'Gabriola Sounder'. We'll be contributing on a weekly basis so everyone on Gabriola can come along for the ride. From Tofino, British Columbia to St. Johns Newfoundland, sit back and enjoy the view!!
Wanda and myself would like to thank Colleen, of Colleen's store on Gabriola. Everytime we've visited her store we've found the service to be very friendly and personable. A great shopping experience...thank you Colleen!
We've ridden and owned many motorcycles but for the long haul, level of service and build quality nothing compares to the BMW. An R100GS in the basement with 85,000 miles and our Muskox are proof of that!
If you need any outdoor gear in Nanaimo then Rob and his staff at Valhalla will give you a hand. Great store and friendly service. Thank you very much Rob.
We picked up a couple of t's at the Departure Bay terminal from Elaine. They are really catchy and of good quality and made right on the island in Coombs. Have to like that!!
The largest flying tankers in the world. They're big, bold and beautiful. Check out the site or head to Sproat lake on Vancouver island to see them in the flesh.
We rolled in off the road and hit the Listel out of the blue. Zack, at the desk was fantastic. He made us feel welcome and gave us the goods on what to see and do in Whistler.
4.4 km long, 3.024 km unsupported span and 1427 feet above Fitzsimmons creek, there is no doubt about it, the Gondola linking Whistler mountain with Blackcomb is the best seat in the house.
Based in Sicamous, Bluewater has houseboats for all size parties....and what a way to vacation. Cruise the Shuswap, beach the boat, fire up the barbi and have a swim. Thanks to Bluewater and Ryan, Mallory and Hayden for their gracious time on the 'Rockin the Swap'.
A great bicycle store in Revelstoke that helped us with some tools on a minor adjustment.
A pair of boots was needed. Malcolm at Universal Footwear in Revelstoke cut took care of us and waxed and waterproofed them while we went for a cuppa! Great store.
On the road to Nakusp we passed the Angel falls. It's a great story of Monashee Bill.
An annual family pass is great value if you plan on hitting a lot of sites.
A fantastic place to stay in Prince Albert National Park. Forty units of different sizes and a cute old store with a floor that'll makes you ask yourself if you've been drinking.
If you're ever in Southern Manitoba you have to check out the grain elevators in Inglis. Five of them, a real walk through a bygone time.
It may be in an old building but if you are into train heritage you should check this out, especially the 5700. A beauty built in Montreal in the 30s that rolled at 110mph!
If you need your bike serviced in the South Ontario area these are the folks. They fit us in on short notice and did a great job. Thank you very much....see you on the way back!
A beautiful Motel and cabin complex in Riviere du Loup, Quebec. A perfect place to stop before heading up the Gaspe Peninsula.
We found a great little motel in Shediac New Brunswick. It has been completely renovated and a short walk from the best beach in town.
We took the bike in to get fitted with new tires. They took care of us on the spot, spotted a faulty light, fixed it and offered to replace Wanda's faulty visor mechanism without charge. Lots of bikes and accessories on the floor, one of the nicest shops we've been in.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask. Ann gave us a great rate at this beautiful resort which started out as a railroad hotel. The staff were fantastic and the room beautiful...and what a pool!
We happened upon the Dockside in Lunenburg and what a gem. Paulette was fantastic and the views from the room were without a doubt the best in town...thanks!!!
Unfortunately the Bluenose II is out of the water. It is in the process of a complete rebuild. Check out the site and follow the progress as it is brought back to its former glory.
The world famous Cabot Trail does the loop around North Western Cape Breton Island. Gorgeous road, gorgeous scenery.
If you want to break up your Cabot Trail journey then this is the place to stay. Katie and the staff are great and the location is second to none.
We found the Acadain Motel in Cheticamp after riding the Cabot Trail. Ron runs a great place, spotless rooms and great rates.
Irene at the Royale Hotel in Sydney Nova Scotia has a beautiful place, over a hundred years old with the charm to go along.
St. John's is a great city so we decided to hang around for a couple of days. Elenor gave us a great rate and there is a fantastic bar on site.
If you're ever in Ottawa try the Chimo. Great hotel and if you're interested in some Tex Mex it's right next door at the Lone Star.
We had a new tire fitted to the Muskox. If you need something for your motorbike in Ottawa try these guys. Great store, BMW, Triumph and Kawasaki plus loads of riding gear.
In North Bay, Ontario we shopped around for a place and found the Travelodge. Great place, clean rooms, breakfast and close to town.
Yes....that's right. The Ontario Provincial Police. We were pulle over outside of Kenora doing 119 in a 90 and the first thing he said was..."I'm not looking at giving you a ticket!" Two thumbs up in our book.
We stayed here in Brandon Manitoba and what a great spot with a music hall attached. Great gigs on a regular basis.
The price is right and the location in Osoyoos is superb. We'd highly reccomend it, big rooms, kind of old school with the beach a stones throw away.
Last but definetely not least is Timmies! We haven't the foggiest idea of how many hot chocolates we had there but it was a lot!!
